PATRICK CAMERON-THE MAESTRO OF LONG HAIR
Patrick Cameron is truly a master of his art and an innovative hair stylist that is hard to ignore.
He has been a great force in the hair industry and his platform shows at major events like Salon International have been described as mesmerizing. These visual displays have earned him a reputation as being "the maestro of long hair."
Patrick, a New Zealander came to Britain in 1987 and he has never looked back. He has worked with leading hairdressing manufacturer, Wella and the professional appliance company Babyliss. Patrick has used his unique experience as a salon stylist and platform artist to stage awe- inspiring hair shows at prestigious global hairdressing events like the IBS, Cosmotof, The World Hairdressing Congress and Salon International. Patrick has inspired his audiences with his visual and avant garde stage productions. His charismatic presence on the stage made him the obvious choice to be chosen to host The World Hair Championships in Berlin in 2000.
Patrick has also been seen on countless television programs all over the world. He has appeared in the UK on "Style Challenge," GMTV'S "Lorraine Live," UK Living's "Live at 3" and Julia Carling's "Style File" to name a few. Internationally he has been on "Good Morning America," " Good Morning Singapore, "Irish Television and "Good Morning New Zealand."
The "maestro" gets his inspiration from endless sources and this is proof of his genius of adapting to many styles and setting trends in the hair industry. He stated recently, "My aim is to create natural looks that make the client feel feminine." This philosophy has led him to produce various hairstyles over the years; some are inspired by the Breakfast at Tiffany's glamour that made Audrey Hepburn a fashion icon, the Asian inspired "Jewel Collection" and the "Royal Collection" which was influenced by the Elizabethan era. Patrick has also created the "Opera" collection that made waves at Salon International. The "opera" idea originated from the great opera divas and the lady's who graced paintings of the French artists Degas, Renoir and Monet. Patrick has a genius of adapting classic hairstyles by giving them a modern twist that are at once seductive and alluring. The models he uses are always elegant and graceful and there is a touch of the romantic in his hairstyles. The "Arts and Crafts" collection is very feminine and is a good example of how he has interpreted classic techniques such as braiding, weaving, roping and twisting and made them more contemporary.
He established in 1997 a training school -Patrick Cameron Hair International Training School. He gives tuition in the art of dressing long hair and he has travelled all over the world to provide training and to inspire others. He has been all over Europe, Australia, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Malta, Singapore and USA, just to name a few places. His energy and vitality, not to mention his warm personality has made him a favourite in the hair care circuit.
Patrick is now looking to the future and was recently commissioned to create new looks that appeared in the Babyliss advertisement campaign. This new venture enabled him to produce 15 new styles that are displayed in his latest book "Dressing Long Hair3."His latest collection is being perfected and will be launched in October.
