CASTING SESSION

Casting sessions are a regular feature of a modelling career. It can be a rather tedious process as it involves a lot standing around and when your name is finally called you must be ready to make that first big impression. On the other hand it can be a major breakthrough if you end up being selected for a modelling job. A casting is when a client asks various modelling agencies to send down their models and within this group they will select the models suitable for the job.

How do you prepare for a casting?

*Be approachable and present a relaxed image of yourself when you attend the casting, it will break the ice.

*Always be punctual it makes a good impression and makes you appear professional.

*Bring your portfolio, high heels and low shoes, hairbrush and make-up and other useful things. The agency you work with will give you guidance.

*Find out about the assignment from your agency and dress appropriately to fit the image the client is looking for. Look as good as you can.

*If you are going for an advertising job, be prepared for possible photographs and acting in front of a video camera. You might even be asked to say a few lines if the advertisement requires acting.
