Black Film Awards 2002

The atmosphere at the recent BFM awards was overwhelmingly positive, a testimony to the abundance of artistic talent in black Britain. The colourful celebrities and the assortment of actors, directors was a sure sign that there is no looking back; the BFM awards has gathered momentum and is here to stay.

The celebrities ranged from: Lenny James, ER's Eriq La Salle, Eamonn Walker, Josie D'arby, Ray Gaskins, Helen Thomas, Paul Barber Angela Griffin, Wil Johnson, Diane Parish, Angellica Bell and Colin Salmon. The list is endless. It was a full house and the show was presented by Brenda Emmanus at Grosvenor House. It proved to be the first major black Oscar award show to be successfully staged in the U.K.
